DFI - Week 9 - Revision - Ubiquitous Learning


What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

Anytime, any where, any place.

Spend the first term getting kids use to routines.
How find the site, book mark.
set up documents with name etc.
Previous ways of teaching have not been thrown out the window.

Free teacher up to give instructions quite quickly then this allows for more time for the teacher to roam and spend more time with the children.
No reason for kids to miss out or get left behind.


Comparing low decile children with high decile students.
30,000,000 less words at beginning of school.

Resources extending beyond the school day. More opportunities to engage with learning.

Summer slump - children can post while on holidays. Children who maintain their blog posts over the summer.

Technology is about the removal of barriers.
If its worth teaching - its worth capturing.


What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

I sat the google educator Level 1 Exam today and...

Congratulations! You have passed the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.




I have learnt so much about the multiple Google tools that are available. I will be able to use these tools in my professional capacity to make my life easier and make the learning more engaging for the tamariki. The learning will be ubiquitous as they will be able to access this learning any time, any place and any where!!

Alternative To - a website that gives alternatives to apps etc.
Using google tools will make my life easier!
